5 Ways You Can Support Vulnerable Youth in Burundi

Published on 8 June 2026 at 08:00

Every young person deserves a future. In Burundi, thousands of young people — many of them refugees, returnees, or survivors of conflict — are growing up without access to quality education, mental health support, or economic opportunity.

But change is possible. And you can be part of it.

1. DONATE TO OUR YOUTH PROGRAMS

Your financial contribution directly funds skills training, mentorship sessions, psychosocial support, and leadership development for young people who have nowhere else to turn. Even a small monthly donation creates a ripple effect of change.

2. BECOME A MENTOR OR VOLUNTEER

Do you have skills in education, health, business, technology, or peacebuilding? HIH welcomes volunteers — both in Burundi and remotely — who can share their knowledge and time with our youth.

3. SHARE OUR WORK

Sharing HIH's work on social media, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, or with your network costs nothing but creates enormous impact. Every share puts HIH in front of a potential donor, partner, or volunteer.

4. PARTNER WITH US

Is your organisation working in humanitarian response, development, education, or peacebuilding? HIH is actively seeking institutional partnerships with NGOs, foundations, government bodies, and private sector organisations.

5. PRAY AND ADVOCATE FOR BURUNDI

For those of faith — your prayers matter. Advocate for Burundi in your communities, your churches, your networks. Raise awareness. Tell the story of a nation rising.
